CANADIAN FIREARMS SAFETY COURSE
(PAL/NON-RESTRICTED)
This one-day course covers the Non-Restricted Firearms course, a prerequisite for obtaining your Possession and Acquisition Licence for non-restricted firearms.
This course covers:

The evolution of firearms, major parts, types and actions
-
Basic firearms safety practices
-
Ammunition
-
Operating rifle and shotgun actions
-
Safe handling and carry procedures
-
Firing techniques and procedures
-
Care of non-restricted firearms
-
Responsibilities of the firearms owner/user
-
Safe storage, display, transportation and handling of non-restricted firearms
-
Includes written and practical exams
-
Anyone 12 years or older can take the CFSC. Children under 12 can take the course, but only for educational purposes. They will not do the written or practical exams. To get a Minor's Licence to borrow and use non-restricted firearms, the minor must be between 12 and 17 years old.

CANADIAN RESTRICTED FIREARMS SAFTETY COURSE
(RESTRICTED/RPAL)
This one-day course covers the Restricted Firearms course, a prerequisite for obtaining your Restricted Possession and Acquisition Licence (RPAL - Restricted Possession Acquisition Licence).
This course covers:

BC HUNTER SAFETY CORE COURSE (CONSERVATION AND OUTDOOR RECREATION EDUCATION PROGRAM)
This course is required for BC residents 18+ years old to obtain a BC Hunting License. The CORE includes both a practical firearm handling test, and a written exam.
